About The National Universities Commission
The National Universities Commission was set up in 1962 as an advisory agency in the cabinet office. However in 1974, it became a statutory body and the first and the first Executive Secretary, in the person of Jibril Aminu was then appointed.
NUC is a federal parastatal under the Federal Ministry of Education (FME). The commission has a governing council which the executive secretary is Prof. Abubakar Adamu Rasheed mni, MFR, who assumed office on August 3, 2016.
The NUC has many functions which include:
- Channel for all external support to the Nigeria Universities.
- Ensure quality assurance of the entire programmes offered in the Nigerian Institution
- Approving the establishment of all higher educational institutions offering degree progrmme in the Nigerian Universities;
- Granting approval for the entire academic programme run in Nigerian Universities.
Requirements Needed for NUC Recruitment 2023
NUC Recruitment Qualifications 2023/2024 www.nuc.gov.ng
- West African School Certificate (WASC) & National Examination Council (NECO) certificate credits needed in not more than two sittings.
- General Certificate of Education (GCE) must have 4 passes including English Language.It must not be more than two sittings
- Must have at least B.Sc Degree or H.N.D from any accredited institution in Nigeria. As far as it is accredited by NUC.
- Minimum of Second Class Lower Division from any discipline is also required.
NUC Recruitment 2023/2024 Requirements
- You need to be from Nigerian to be able to apply for the recruitment.
- Those that will be accepted must be between 25 years and 45 years of Age. More than 45 years of age will not be accepted, but disqualified.
